ABSTRACT

The tourism sector has been one of the most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, due to restrictions on mobility and fear of social contact. In this context, business innovation through digital transformation is presented as a great opportunity for the tourism industry and the inclusion of social robots in service tasks is an example. This transformation requires new methodologies, skills and talent that must be promoted to improve the innovative tourism ecosystem. With this research, we try to determine how the inclusion of social or service robots in hotels can improve the image and perception held by clients or guests. For that, we first analyse the degree of knowledge and sentiment generated by social robots through a social listening study in social networks. In addition, we determine whether these perceptions on the subject are in tune with other more formal fields, such as scientific research, or with the strategies followed at a national or international level by companies, agencies and organisations related to the technology and innovation of social robotics. For both objectives, we use the Simbiu social listening tool, a software-based program on Talkwalker, and we obtain interesting results. Basically, people on Twitter have a neutral or positive feeling about the use of social robots, and people who write in English have a more positive attitude towards social robots than Spanish speakers. After COVID-19, are necessary changes in strategic decisions of the hospitality and it is essential to continue investigating the role of social robots in this new context. © 2023, The Author(s).

ABSTRACT

Background: Strategies for locally advanced rectal cancer LARC usually consisted of neoadjuvant concomitant chemoradiotherapy (CRT) followed by adjuvant chemotherapy, or short-course radiotherapy (SCRT). TNT is a novel approach for LARC, with several randomized clinical trials exploring its role and paving the way for implementation in clinical practice. Nevertheless, the COVID-19 pandemic represented a challenge for a timely diagnosis, implementation and follow-up of new treatment strategies in these pts. Methods: Records of all the pts diagnosed with LARC and stage IV rectal cancer evaluated in the Oncology department of Vall d’Hebron Hospital between Jan 1st, 2017 and Dec 31th 2021 were included. The period 2017-19 was considered pre-pandemic (PP) and 2020-2021 during-pandemic (DP). Patients with LARC receiving neoadjuvant and/or adjuvant treatment were analyzed, including those treated with SCRT, CRT, and TNT. Data regarding demographics, diagnosis and staging, preoperative treatment received, surgical outcomes, including treatment response, and pathological stage were collected. Results: 390 patients were included (31.28% female, 68.71% Male, median age 69). LARC pts characteristics included 123 (31.54%) either cT4 or cN2, 59 low rectal cancers, 4 with signet ring cells. Neoadjuvant treatment was done in 160 pts (CRT) and 59 pts (TNT). pCR was achieved in 20% and 22% for CRT, and TNT respectively (p0.84). 32 pts received only SCRT with 6.25% pCR. An increased ratio of stage IV pts compared to LARC was evident during the pandemic (stage IV 26.38% 2017-2019, 37.14% 2020-2021, p=0.044). The proportion of high risk LARC increased during pandemic (34.89% PP vs 39.04% DP, p=0.041). No difference was found in terms of pCR amongst the PP and DP patients (25.3% vs 27%, p=0.83) nor different strategies (TNT: 26.47% PP and 26.6% PD, p=0.98 and CRT 23.89% PP and 27.27 % PD, p=0.82). Conclusions: Efficacy of LARC neoadjuvant treatment measured by pCR was maintained in pts before and during COVID-19 pandemic despite an increasing proportion of new LARC high-risk pts. Evaluation of TNT impact in LARC outcomes was challenging because of pandemic confounding role. Real-world data in a post-pandemic setting is essential to evaluate outcome trends in LARC pts;an increase in high-risk LARC and metastatic pts should be expected. ABSTRACT

The objective was to characterize the primary schools from the socio-psycho-pedagogical perspective, at the conclusion of the first outbreak of Covid-19. A random sample of 227 children and another of 30 teachers in schools in a socially vulnerable area were selected. The survey method was applied to children and teachers. Two-dimensional and contingency crosstabulations were calculated. 89% of the children viewed the classes on television and more than 90% were eager to start school. Television and video games occupied their free time and changed their life habits. The mental and physical well-being of the children did not suffer significant injuries. Teachers rated the educational actions for health care as numerous. Most worked on course readjustments. Emotional changes, lifestyle changes, fear of losing loved ones and worry about illness were the causes of stress of teachers.

ABSTRACT

Purpose: Work-family conflict is an important topic which had an evolution, starting from a static definition, where work and family domains were divided, to a more dynamic and complex balance. COVID-19 has influenced society and created a significant distress among families and working activity, and this topic has been characterised by a major interest, considering some old definitions where this balance was considered problematic but not as an enriching opportunity. Design/methodology/approach: The authors used SCOPUS to find all records mentioning work-family conflict, by considering book, article and review, excluding conference paper and considering only records written in English language. After a duplicated and not pertinent record removal, the authors obtained a number of 675 records. The authors considered 437 records from SCOPUS to create a cluster map. Findings: Using SCOPUS and VOSviewer the authors have clustered 5 different areas, which are regrouped in next clusters considering keywords with most co-occurrence and significancy: Work-life balance and burnout gender cluster job stress and performance social and family support job satisfaction. Research limitations/implications: Cluster map is origined only by SCOPUS database. Originality/value: This work aims to find a state of art about this topic, creating hypothesis where this problem has been exacerbated by 2020 due to important society modifications created by COVID-19, where recent evolution of work-family balance has been complicated by papers which come back to consider this balance as problematic. © 2021, Tancredi Pascucci, Brizeida Hernàndez Sanchèz and Josè Carlos Sanchéz Garcìa.

ABSTRACT

and internet connection, to address these problems and understand them, the paradigm has been used qualitative with the hermeneutical method, as a technique, the online interview has been used through the ZOOM platform with tutors and tutored, precisely because of the health emergency situation and the Atlas.ti tool has been used for data analysis, as a result It was obtained that from the tutors' perspective, three categories emerged: 1) personalized attention to the tutors is necessary,, 2) that the tutors are still in a process of adapting to the change from face-to-face to virtual education and 3) that there is a lack of computer equipment to attend their virtual education activities, now well from the tutored perspective, three emerging categories were generated: 1) teachers do not teach sessions by videoconference, 2) dropout is something that is already on the minds of some tutored and 3) that there is a lack of academic attention to students. has concluded with the evidence obtained that it is the lack of computer equipment of the teachers, in this case of the tutors, which affects the problems of the tutored, the internet is also a factor but less frequent and rooted.
